Today is the finale performance of 2009 Berkeley/Oakland AileyCamp at Cal Performances. The AileyCampers will perform in front of their family members, friends and community members, equal to an almost sold-out house.

Video: Personal Development with Shawn Nealy

Although the campers receive professional dance training, the aim of AileyCamp is not to train professional dancers, but to instill within the campers a sense of discipline and healthy self-esteem. In this video, Personal Development instructor Shawn Nealy shares how her class supports and provides AileyCampers tools that explore resolving conflict, enhance communication skills and build self-image.

It is the last week of AileyCamp and everyone's energy is in high gear. Fortunately for many campers living in Oakland, the AileyCamp bus makes it possible for them to arrive to AileyCamp quickly and safely.
