Just as with any sports team, dance company, theater company, job, school or camp, Berkeley/Oakland AileyCamp has limited space and everyone who applies may not be enrolled into AileyCamp due to space considerations and a variety of other reasons. Students who apply and are not enrolled are encouraged to apply again the following year.

  • AileyCamp is open to youths age 11-14.
  • Application forms are available in January.
  • Email aileycampatcpsma.berkeley.edu to reqiest a 2009 Application Form.
  • Frequently Asked Questions about applying to and attending AileyCamp.
  • 2009 Applications are due: March 30, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Interviews: The applicant's interview is in lieu of an audition. Applicants do not need to have any dance training to apply.
  • Notification: Applicants will be notified of their application status by Thursday, April 30, 2009.

    Notes for Parents/Guardians:
    In order for us to consider your child's application, she or he MUST:

  • Submit a complete application form by the due date: Monday, March 30, 2009.
  • Participate in an interview, which will be scheduled after we have received the complete application form.
  • Have a physical examination between June 9, 2008 and June 9, 2009 and are current in immunization shots.
  • Present required medical documentation, including immunization records AND appropriate medical forms BEFORE Tuesday, June 9, 2009 (orientation session). (Please do not submit medical information until you are requested to do so).
  • Attend the mandatory parent/guardian/camper orientation session Tuesday, June 9, 2009.
    • IMPORTANT: Potential campers must attend this session if they have been accepted to camp OR are on the waiting list. Failure to attend the orientation will forfeit the opportunity to attend camp.
  • DO NOT APPLY if there are ANY scheduling conflicts, including:
    • Sports practices or games, or other performance commitments between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
    • Vacation plans between Monday, June 22 and Friday, July 31, 2009.
